Innovative student business idea recognised in National Competition

Earlier this week, Year 11 student Taj Brady and College Principal Mr Francesconi attended the ‘Plan Your Own Enterprise’ (PYOE) State Awards presentation in Perth, hosted by the competition sponsors, Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand, where Taj was presented with an award!

In Term 3, all Year 11 Business Management and Enterprise students created, developed and pitched their idea for a Peel-based micro-business. These Business Plans were entered into the National PYOE competition run by Business Educators Australia.

Taj’s idea to operate a jet ski hire and tour business, with a unique Uber-like water-based service in Mandurah called “SkiSesh", was selected by Business Educators WA to receive one of six Encouragement Awards.

Along with being presented with his award, Taj was also given a chance to ‘pitch’ his business idea to business industry professionals, other award winners and their families.

The PYOE competition receives thousands of entries every year, and this is the first time a student from MCC has been recognised with an award. Well done Taj!
