Mandurah Catholic College has a Physical Education and Sport Learning Area. The Physical Education Learning Area manages all of the curriculum including Health, PE and Outdoor Education classes. The Sport Learning Area manages the Inter-School Sport, the MCC Basketball Club and MCC Netball Club.

  • Year 7 – 10 Core class

    • General Health and Physical Education Classes operate as 2 periods a week of PE and 1 period a week of Health. There are four sport focuses per year for each year group.

    Year 7 – 10 Elective classes for HPE
    Specialised sports are offered as an elective class for a one semester intensive option through year 8, 9 and 10. This is an extra 2 periods per week focused on the specific sport.

    • Specialised Touch rugby – Year 8

    • General courses operate as 50% theory and 50% practical

    • ATAR courses operate as 70% theory and 30% practical

  • Years 8 – 10 Outdoor Education is an option subject that consist of two periods per week and for one semester (2 terms).

    Year 8

    • Team Building, Trangia cooking, Bouldering, Orienteering

    Year 9

    • Unit A: First Aid, Climbing, Kayaking, Navigation

    • Unit B: Camp Preparation, Bush cooking, Mountain Biking, Archery

    Year 10

    • Unit A: Paddling and Surfing (1 term per unit)

    • Unit B: Bronze medallion and sailing (1 term per unit)

    Year 11 & 12 General and ATAR

    • General courses operate as 50% theory and 50% practical

    • ATAR courses operate as 70% theory and 30% practical (2 expeditions per year)
